Undergraduate Major

We're so glad you're interested in the Plant Sciences B.S. program here at UC Santa Cruz! This major is for students who are passionate about the natural world and interested in learning more about the ecology and physiology of plants. You will take classes from faculty in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Environmental Studies, and Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology departments. After lower division biology courses you will have the opportunity to choose from a wide array of relevant upper division courses to pursue your specific interests in the plant sciences. There are also many internships available to gain experience with fieldwork and data collection.
